DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:
The Department of Computer Engineering in association with CE.net and TechForge CLUB celebrated “Mathrubhasha Diwas” on 21st February 2023.
A college-wide event that gave the participants a chance to showcase and present their mother tongue to the students and the staff at New Horizon College of Engineering. This competition had active participation from members throughout the college.
There was a good turnout and many students and faculty members showed great appreciation for the event that was conducted.
The event comprised of 2 rounds:
– Round 1: Prelims
– In this round the participants for solo singing competition and essay writing competed for the top 3 positions. The judges, who were made up of faculty members from various departments that were able to speak various languages, gave marks to the participants based on the performance of the students. The marks were then considered and averaged to conclude the top contestants.
– Round 2: Finale
– In this round, an audience comprising of the principal, deans, various professors and students. A small set of speeches were made by the respective faculties. As well as the awards for the top 3 position winners in the solo singing events and essay writing competitions were given their prizes and congratulated for their performance. After this the last event, Pick and Speak, was conducted. The judges whom had judged in the first round were judging here as well and concluded as to whom the final winners were and the respective participants who came in at the top 3 positions were given their respective prizes.
